Some of you have got in touch regarding the studio setup we’ve been using for model, texture and look dev turntables. Below is a short overview of setting up the scene using the following files, which you can pick up for FREE from the shop:
- Maya Prop Look Development and Lighting Rig
- Maya Studio Look Development and Lighting Environment
- Maya Look Development and Lighting Props
Please note that the setup we are using has yet to be released and is still a prototype. We are also using the CAVE ACES colour profile, which you can grab from here:
…but using all of the above, you should be able to get something similar going. Lastly, you can pretty much set this up in any application/renderer. Just export the geo as FBX, obj or abc, add some basic shaders and lights and you should be good to go.
