Get an insight into how CG and VFX plays a pivotal role in the filmmaking process

This course is for students who want to step into the filmmaking industry in the field of CG Animation or VFX, or for those already in the industry who would like to gain a further understanding of the different stages of the digital pipeline. This course also serves as an accessible summary for people currently working in creative media outside of the artistic and technical world, such as Production and Human Resources.

During this course, we’ll dissect examples of how onset data is used for look development and lighting, how digital models are created and then rigged. We’ll cover how an asset is textured and shaded, and then pushed into the shot pipeline to be animated, lit, and then composited. The course will not focus on the tools used to create CG but more the terminology and language used in the industry and the typical journey of an asset and a shot from initial concept to final render.

If you are new to computer graphics and looking to get an overview on how we go from series of vertices to final pixels, then this is the course for you.
