Back in 2023, CAVE Academy started a collaborative project with the Haiti Ocean Project to support the ocean and marine conservation. The overall aim being to create a digital shark and a series of VFX shots with the support and knowledge of scientists and marine experts.
At the end of 2023, we did take a trip to Haiti to gather reference on the Oceanic Whitetip Shark. Unfortunately, they were a little shy that week so we did not get to capture them in their natural habitat.
However, fast-forward 9 months later and back in the U.K., we set off from the coast of Cornwall with a bucket full of chum. And to our good fortune, we met a stunning shiver of Blue Sharks, and these friendly chaps did not disappoint.
