Maya Studio Look Development and Lighting Environment 1003
This is a digital studio environment suitable for look devving and lighting props and characters. It comes with a modelled and textured environment, a series of modelled lights, HDRI lightmaps, and a selection of background drapes.
*Please note that this setup does not come with any preset light rigs. If you are looking to drag-and-drop a light rig into the environment, we have the following that have been specifically created for this environment:
- Maya Prop Look Development and Lighting Rig 1003
- Maya Character Look Development and Lighting Rig 1003
- File Format: Maya 2024+, MtoA 5.12, Arnold Core 126.96.36.199, FBX
- Version: 003
- Release Date: 2024.02.20
What is included?
The environment has been modelled and textured primarily for reflection and holds up when you add some depth of field. Some elements of the environment have only shaders applied (for example, the walls). You will also find a selection of drapes, so you can go for the nice and neat look or a slightly rougher look.
The environment has been modelled where 1 Maya unit = 1cm. A character model has been provided as reference and a 10cm cube.
By default, the house lights are turned on. During the actual “shoot”, we would recommend these be turned off. A locator can be found in the Outliner that allows you to easily position the environment, turn off the lights, clean up the room. I personally like it a little messy 😉
Provided with the environment are a selection of modelled lights mapped with photographic HDRIs. You can position, rotate, tweak the exposure of these lights to create your unique light rig.
Here are some examples when used in conjuntion with the prop and character light rigs. Please note that the grey ball, chrome ball, colour chart, turntaBles, characters, dragons, etc. are not included with this setup, and are purely presented to demonstrate what you can do with the environment. They are provided with the prop and character 1003 light rigs.
